All constructions that were not addressed in other solution chapters - but are nevertheless frequently encountered - are special solutions.

Typically, they are specific spaces in which constant thermal conditions have to be maintained with a minimal amount of energy. Good examples of special constructions are cooling units and swimming pool buildings.
